Payment for Coaching

The question of payment for Coaching has raised its head above the parapet.

as an archer :
Would you pay for Coaching?
How much would you expect to pay?

as a Coach :
Would you/do you accept payment for Coaching
How much would you charge?

The first step for the archer would be to determine how to select a suitable coach.

The coach would probably be best to look around the 'competition' and see where their own 'success rate' and qualifications placed them in the marketplace.
I take it that we're talking serious archers here and not my end of the spectrum that'll get them 1st class ,which is enjoyable for everyone concerned, but nobodys going to the olympics

i think the issue with this is still.

99.9 % of archers dont want to part with money to get better ,

for instance theres about 800 archers in wales, more or less.
not mentioning field archers but some do do both.

2 archers go all over the uk from n.wales and i would estimate about ten south wales archers at the most.

we even have people here complaining about £6 for a open tournament. when the said people pay £3 everytime they shoot at their own club.

my dad remembers when GNAS fee's were 2 shillings and 6 pence.
for donkeys years.

the world fell apart when it went up

TIME IS MONEY AND THERE'S NO FRIENDS WHERE MONEY IS CONCERNED.

I get £25 an hour for coaching at a commercial sports camp in the school holidays. Club coaching duties (beginners, development coaching, have a gos/archery parties etc) are unpaid. If I was offered payment for the beginners course and the parties I'd take it - these turn a largish profit for the club and to be honest I am skint. But I won't stop doing them if I don't get paid either. I wouldn't take payment for normal development coaching within the club - I do that because I like to help people improve.

My own coach (who is from my own club) doesn't want paying. If he did want, I would expect to pay in the region of £25 per hour.

I offer about £20 per session (not per hour) plus expenses. I then offer expenses plus a drink or two (as the the coach I was prepared to pay would not accept more). I would also expect some email support from a coach. However, I would be very selective in who I would accept coaching from.

I have never paid for coaching but it is certainly not out of the question.

If somebody wants to pay me to coach them I would gladly take it. How much? Don't know cause I have never seriously thought about it. Saying that helping out in the club, I doubt I could accept it.

Not a holiday camp! Its more like a day camp, kids come and try various sports out when they're off school. The business that runs the camp came to me, so I could pretty much name my price. Bear in mind this is North Oxford and quite a number of the kids are from private schools...
