Weather / Atmospherics affecting the tune and shooting of a bow?

Hi everyone
Just wondered if anyone has looked at the affects of weather and atmospherics with regard to the tune of a bow or the flight of the arrow?

Just wondered as I was thinking there must be some change in tune on very hot days and very cold days. when is it best to tune? or should i have 2 buttons one for cold weather and one for hot weather?

also the atmospheric pressure must play a part somehow with regard to the flight of the arrow and sightmarks.

could anyone help me out here please?

I don't think I would go as far as trying to tune for specific temperatures but have observed changes in sight marks if the weather is mixed between cloudy and sunny. I am not sure if it is atmospherics or changes to the iris of the eye but arrows seem to drop slightly at longer distances when the clouds come over. Obviously one of the biggest problems in Scotland is rain. If it is showery this causes most problems as the bow never seems to settle to a wet or dry tune so sight marks keep changing. If it is like this I try to keep the bow as dry as possible. If it is steady rain I just let the bow get wet.

So there is a change in tune from wet to dry weather?

Someone must have observed this over the years.

what does everyone else do?

I have heard of archers in the upper echelons of the sport adjusting button tensions in association with barometric changes, I'm currently looking at an online weather station in very close proximity to my club to indeed see if there is com-parables to sight marks and the various elements we are subject to. But to be quite honest you usually tune your bow in the best possible (calmest & driest) conditions, now shoot that bow in a cross wind and what is your tune really worth?

I wonder if changing weather / atmospherics are more likely to have an affect on the way the archer takes each shot than the affect it has on the actual equipment.

Rifle shooters and pistol shooters say *High Light..High Sight*..*Low Light..Low Sight*. Works for me!

as a rule-
a heavy sky gives me heavy arrows.

ie: a sky full of moisture ( overcast to cloudy) lowers my sightmarks, as most people will have seen.
I'm not good enough to have noticed how 'heavier air' affects the apparent spine of an arrow though- and wonder if anyone would be good enough?

Low barometeric pressure (i.e. a passing warm front, high temps and humidity) generally triggers a migraine, so I suppose I could adjust my bow when my head hurts during a shoot. And I do get a fair amount of headaches/migraines when I shoot outdoors.
