Finger Cramp!

Today while I was shooting, just as I was about to end my shooting session with a few more arrows, my whole draw hand(more particularly my index finger, causing the whole hand including wrist) cramped up! Thank god it was only during the pre-draw segment. Anyways my question is, if something like that happens in a competition, would there be any technical shots given or similar?

I don't think it would be covered under 'equipment failure'. I guess a sympathetic judge would give you a time out under 'medical'. However, any arrow shot while cramped would probably stand.

I'm not sure if technical shot is the correct term, but its something like getting extra time to shoot the arrows you didn't get to due to certain issues. (eg. broken string/limbs/etc)

as a proactive measure eat your fresh veggies, this can often prevent cramp in muscles when they r being worked hard, plenty of vitamins/minerals u c. i also take a vit/min tab supplement.

Haha yea I guess I was also pretty dehydrated that day. Might have contributed to the cramp.

Dehydration and simple stress are the most likely culprits. I very much doubt that you would be given extra time, so remember to keep hydrated and relaxed. If the problem persists ask a doctor as it could be a symptom of something else, I wouldn't know.
