Best product?

What is the best product to use for building up a grip? epoxy resin of some kind is usually used, and recently I just ran out of Loctite repair putty, which I was not happy with, it set very quickly, went lumpy, was difficult to work, did not finish smooth, was sticky and ended up all over everything etc etc... and I also found it came off the grip again too easily.

Even though it was repair epoxy, quick setting, it probably was only intended to repair things etc and not for any delicate re-working

So what have others used to good effect?

Body filler for any experimental work. Once I get a shape I like, if I feel in the mood, I will copy that shape in something more " beautiful" like exotic hard wood. Out of dozens made so far, very few have been replaced with exotic woods; I'd rather shoot the bow with a good grip than look at an exotic one.

"Green Stuff". It is modelling putty; sets solid in ~4 hours, though setting time can be controlled with proportionate mixture of blue and yellow components. Not sticky, very easy to work with, sets with a good adhesive hold on wood or plastic.Kneadatite Epoxy Modeling Putty (Green Stuff)

Rhys has also used this to good effect.

I use Miliput for mould making and repairs. I is easily shaped, can be tapped with screwthreads. Available in white and grey/green. I also use Polymorph whick can be easily reconstituted back to granules. A smart material. http://www.mutr.co.uk/catalog/produc...9d12e1272ee4f3

What temperature does polymorph become malleable?

On a very hot day, could the shape of a grip be affected?
