Ok.. it is possible that i can shoot 1200+ and i know that when i can keep my shooting together for long enough i'm able to walk it.

My realistic aim is 1150 for a competition FITA and if i get 1200 then even better

A lot of insurers for activity centres set archery leader as a requirement, in some cases, they refuse to recognise coach / level 1!
The UKCC say that:-

L1 coaches work under the supervision of a more senior coach

L2 coaches do not need that supervision

Leaders, by the nature of the places they work, tend to work alone so need to be sort of UKCC L2

The official line on what the Leader Award is all about as far as I know it.

"Leaders teach beginners to shoot, mainly in activity holiday centres, sports centres, educational establishments and youth organisations.
The award is primarily intended for use out-with the Grand National Archery Society and is available to both members and non-members of the society.
Candidates for the award, who must be a minimum of 17 years of age on the day of assessment, will be trained and assessed by accredited coaches of the society. Previous experience of archery is not a pre-requisite.

Course duration will be a minimum of 25 hours. It is recommended that the course be conducted over two sessions of two days each, from one to four weeks apart with the final day of the course being reserved for the assessment. This arrangement allows time for trainees to assimilate the imparted information and to practise their personal skills.

The maximum number of participants on a course with only one tutor shall be twelve candidates. The Leader grade is only for the instruction of beginners: leaders are not permitted to teach others to teach."

I did a leader course before my coach one and I found it very useful, the people on it were far more used to dealing with groups and it was great to learn by watchng them in action.. looking back it was a very good course.

If I was only going to do 1 archery course then I would chose the leaders

Actually, the issue is that some people who have NO knowledge of anatomy, NO ability to observe and analyse, NO ability to communicate what they have observed and analysed, and No ability to teach are still calling themselves Coaches.
I think that there are two issues here, and one of them is that a Level 1 Coach is still a coach, and some level 1 coaches get the idea that they are more than an instructor or coaching assistant, and attempt to coach beyond their abilities. I know that this happens as I've seen it, so you can't claim that "No one at that level would claim to be able to coach people beyond their own capacity."
Now I know that this can happen whatever the qualification is called, (Or even with no qualification) but these level one coaches latch on to the coach part of the title and forget about the level. I know that I've said this before but if they had a badge saying instructor (or even coaching assistant) instead of level one coach then the new archers they were helping would have a better idea of what standard of instruction/coaching they could expect.

The issue about people who don't know what they are doing, or how to do it is another issue, that also needs resolving, and I would like to see the coaching organisation paying visits to clubs to do spot re-assessments, or calling in coaches for re-assessment before renewing the certificate, rather than submitting sheets of paperwork that just prove that the coach can attend a few seminars and fill forms in.

Daniel
