The Best Zenit/Border Talisman is on the heavy side, but is so well-balanced it doesn't feel it.
It was heavy compared to a Petron S3 and a Hoyt GM. I sold the Aerotec and baught another S3, very much like a Matrix, but cheaper.

Ah yes, the S3 was fairly light as I recall, complete with its Amazing Shifting Limb Pockets.

it seems to me that most of you are changing to a helix because of the grip,
that makes it an expensive grip i was mad getting a loesh grip, now appears i have more savvy than i thought, saved myself a bundle sticking with the aerotec, my pb's have got better, so i for one will not be tempted to buy a helix

I had a Loesch grip on the bow I was shooting and also have one on my Intrepid. I don't wish to take anything away from Jamie Loesch, who makes a fine product, but the Helix grip fits my hand much better than anything I've ever tried.

As far as a reason to change goes, the grip is one of two points that the archer touches the bow during the shot, and therefore I'd say it's pretty important to have one that suits you well. Buying a riser because of the grip profile - especially when the narrowness of the throat is down to the design of the riser - isn't so strange.

Of course, if the bow hadn't felt good to shoot as well, I wouldn't have bought it.

This was my point exactly. It's a lot of cash just to change the grip. Glad it worked out for you.

It's not the 'quality' of the grip that is different (it's still bog standard plastic) but the new shape that seems to fit the hand better. The best custom made grips in the world are still restricted in their shape by having to fit the riser. Anyway the grip is only part of the equation, try one for yourself.

Just out of interest I noted that at the Nationals yesterday six out of the eight quaterfinalists were shooting a Helix (including the 1st and 2nd place).
