Intro courses in Surrey

Hi there,

I'm looking to get my son onto a beginner's archery course over the summer holidays and was wondering if anyone could recommend a suitable club near to where he lives (Sunbury) so he can get to it relatively easily. My ideal is to get him trained up on the basics of recurve archery so he can join me on field archery days out.

Any ideas/recommendations on who I might talk to?

Many thanks.

Philip

Welcome to the lunacy that is AIUK!

I would guess the nearest club to you would be Laleham Archers, but I don't know what arrangements they have for beginners courses. You might want to look at the GNAS website and see which other clubs are within your reach. From there you can get contact details...

Or you could just hang around here for a bit...drink some of the ..munch a bit of - and someone who knows the local clubs will drop in before long!

Many thanks for the suggestion. I'll certainly check out Laleham Archers. Out of interest, is anyone else having problems getting onto the GNAS site this morning? I'm getting a 404 error...

Cheers.

Philip

You might try Nonsuch Bowmen if they're not to far from you. They run a very good beginners course. They also have 2 of the best juniors in the county and the club has a wealth of knowledge. Its a very good archery club.

You'll find Laleham Archery club down Worple Road, Staines which isn't very far from Sunbury. Look forward to seeing you and your son down there.
