| New Strings - CW or CCW? To get the correct bracing height we put twists on to the string. My question is does it matter which direction you put the twists on (clockwise or counter clockwise) ? ![]() someone suggested that right or left handed archers twist the sting differently, thereby keeping the arrow in contact with the pressure button on release. Not sure I follow the logic here, is this correct?. I have had some erratic arrow releases/ flight since changing my string and wonder if this is the reason? | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| If you look at an individual strand from your string you will see that it is itself twisted in a certain direction. I have always understood that the whole string should itself be twisted in the same direction. And the serving should also be twisted in that direction, so that when you add twists to the string it tends to tighten. If done the other way, it could loosen and start moving or unravel. |

| as a lefty i put twists in anti clockwise b4 serving the centre and i serve the centre anticlockwise also . so that on release i am in theory tightening the serving. if it did come loose which has never happened i might add ,on one of my strings . then it wouldn't unravel in 6 arrows. i'd have time to sortit. |
