So although it means being a little more subjective you might try rethinking so it's more I'd like to achieve such and such a score in average conditions and then the goals I need to achieve this e.g. my technique was good (score it 1-10), I kept my focus (score it 1-10) etc |
Hmm, interesting perspective.
I have had the dreaded SMART goal-setting thing drummed into me over many years now (for those who don't know this bit of performance management gobbledegook; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-related).
Possibly a couple of my targets fail the "realistic" test!
What I am getting from moo-mop's comment is a reminder that it's about averages as much as peak performance. But. My average York score so far this season is below last year's and has shown a steady downward trend over the season! On the other hand my average scores for Nationals and Westerns have gone up from last season and I have impoved my PB on those rounds.
So, I need to consolidate the success at 60/50 while improving at 80 and 100. Easy to analyse!
