| RE: Hand went numb... Maybe it was hot and tissus swelled and prevented a good blood irrigation... It might also be that you wedges a nerve by doing a wrong movement at the wrist. Personnally I had a sinovia khist at the bow wrist two years ago. It was located near the artery and my hand was often numb and painfull... But this is a rather easy problem to find out. |

| RE: Hand went numb... I've had my ring finger go numb when doing strength exercises that involved holding at full draw for 10 seconds, but the whole hand is scary! Did you get pins and needles at any time? That might indicate that the blood supply was reduced. Otherwise, I'd guess that you were trapping a nerve somewhere. Were you holding for longer than usual?

No longer than usual and there were no pins and needles so I guess I may have trapped a nerve. It could also have something to do with#having#my bow cranked up to max over the last few weeks and probably overbowing myself - I think my arm decided it'd had enough I'll shoot again tomorrow and see if the same thing happens and if it does I'll think about reducing my poundage (which would be a shame as it knocked around 13mm off my site mark )

| RE: Hand went numb... Ring finger numbness and pins-and-needles in the fleshy part at the bottom of your hand are consistent with a trapped or inflammed ulna nerve (the one that makes your funny bone uttery hilarious ).Not sure whether if could make your whole hand numb but it can cause a sort of "ringing" feeling around the lower wrist. But (and it's a big but ) the problem could be anywhere from just below the shoulder blade at the spine, right through to the wrist.I suffered from an ulna nerve problem that was due to poor posture. When I was bench pressing, my right elbow would click resulting in overwhelming pain and my whole arm going numb for about 2 minutes . When the pain subsided, I was left with pins and needles in my hand. The physio said that because I worked on a computer, I was hunching my shoulder which caused the nerve to "shorten". This made it badly aligned at the elbow so it "snapped" across the tendon. Horrible.I cured it by a strech which is very useful to anyone who works on a computer. Every hour, sit straight on an armless chair, dangle your arms by your side, palms facing backards. Now, keeping hands flat, bend them upwards at the wrist, pushing the "heel" of your hand as far back as you can. Expect your shoulders to crack but don't worry about it! ![]() Hold for 10 seconds and relax. Do this 3 or 4 times. It's a great stretch to do whilst shooting - it increases my draw length so I do it when my arrows start to feel a bit too long for my clicker! ![]()

| RE: Hand went numb... Thanks Goldy,
I've just tried it and I'm all out of breath now..
I'll give it a regular go as I spend around 80% of my non-changing nappy time hunched in front of a computer!
