| renewal form I have re-read the form for about the 5th time ( there's a lot to read) What I will need to know is who signes my "Work sheets"? The majority of my coaching takes place at venues which have nothing to do with any club grounds. I work at various schools allbeit part time I run courses at various centres (Rosliston Forestry Centre is the latest) I also do "Have-a-Goes" in the summertime, various "Sport England" activities wherever needed. In short It is a business I run. I also look forward to seeing the "Points system" when you find it. I still have 10 months to go before I need to worry about this paperwork though.

| Re : sign-off Someone who has seen you work... the centre(s) / schools where you have been coaching etc. The main reason for it is to get people you have been working with to witness the fact. The form will go to the County / Regional panel. If you are known by your County / Region, there should be no major problem. |

| Where are you right now (In your grading)? I passed my Club Coach exam Nov' 2000. The Midlands area coaches were invited to attend a day at Greetham Valley Golf Club, (Rutland) 09:30 - 16:30 17/09/05 where we sat & had a presentation of the "Roll Out Training". This consisted of a plastic wallet (A4) with a CD & lots of paperwork. The paperwork is what is on the CD. The program consists as follows: "Course Format", "Roles & Responsibilities" Break, "Technical Specification", "Training Workshop", LUNCH "Assessment Process", "Assessment Practical"(We had a DVD to watch) Break, "Mentoring", "Resources", "Running your First Level 1 Course", "Questions & What now?". Each segment of the course lasted about 35min's on average The day was very informal. Hope this has helped All the best ![]()

Novice or not, you have some experience at coaching & archery, so you have more knowledge than a complete beginner. Working with a more experienced coach will be good for you, it sort of "Rubs off" & you get the benifit from it. As for your other coaching experiences, cricket & kayak, why not... you know how a muscle works, how breathing correctly is important, the mental aproach, getting your message over. etc.etc. When all is said & done, I do not think that there is a "Correct" way to shoot (other than the safety aspect). Each of us has a physical make-up that it ours, & ours alone. It is up to the coach to find out what is best for the archer in question, & to work around that. All the best for your coaching future.

| Meddler, the ideas look good. I like the idea of coaches being helped along by other coaches. Too much isolation is not a good thing. Having plans for remediation is also good; a lot of expertise could be lost without that. It seems to be a much more serious approach to coaching; busier and more structured. Thanks for your input. |
