Do driving instructors have to build a car?
Golf pro's have to make a club?
Football coaches make a football or pair of boots?
Assemble a bow? That would at least serve a purpose in the real world of coaching/helping an archer.
How many flying instructors would there be if they had to build an aeroplane?
Seriously, in the days when archery had a lot of home made equipment in use, it would seem like a good idea if the coach could show archers how to make......
Coaching moves with the times; as does the sport. Or at least, it should.
