How much Practice

Im just curious to know how much we each practice.
Personally i can get to a club twice a week and can practice at home as much as i like.
I find that if i shoot more than 3 to 4 times a week(recurve) that my form starts to get worse rather than better, probably not enough time for the muscles to recover etc, lack of concentration.
How much practice do you do and what effect has it on your shooting if you think you are overdoing it.
I know we all would shoot everyday if we could, but is it practical or even advisable.
I would appreciate your views.
I used to do competitive air rifle shooting and there was a definite cut off point that once reached any further practice was self defeating and more damage than good was done because of frustration and fatigue, have you run into this in your archery?

I used to shoot on average once every three months.

Now I seem to be averaging once a month...

Sadly, it's only once a week for me on Wednesday nights - and then only for an hour (maybe an hour and a half if we're lucky) as we have to work around our indoor venue (a school assembly hall) and we're still trying to find a viable outdoor venue...

Thumbs up

2 hours or so on a Monday and Wednesday for club nights on a 20 yds indoor range with unlimited access at other times. A full foam wall as a backstop.

Access to full field with FITA and Hereford bosses set up and marked out for any distance you wouls need, nice and sheltered as well!

3 hours on a Sunday outdoors during the winter.
When the evenings are lighter up to 3 hours an evening 2 or 3 times a week

Ideally a couple of hours indoors twice a week, but that slips if work/life intrudes.

Depends on my other priorities (Flying and uni), but generally

Monday: 2-3hrs
Wednesday: 2-3hrs
Thursday (occasionally): 2-3hrs

Then if I'm shooting a competition and I can book a sports hall

Saturday: 2-3hrs.

Maximum I can get in a week is 12hrs, which I think is about enough. I'm happy with my form at the minute, having done around 6hrs a week in the last few weeks.

I vary hugely now that I'm back at uni and the dark nights are upon us. I've shot maybe 3/4 times in the lat month, but still nearly beat MM at Thirsk until he put me off!!
