I agree, We also use vid' on on our begginers course, very useful. Best really in conjunction with a coach if poss'

if you have video of yourself , you can give it to someone to analys then watch you shoot. if you slow the shots / releases down your form etc can be anylised easier. the main issue you will have though is who to anylise you. must be someone in your club....pete

Ok got someone to film me today and annoyed all and sundry to have a look and it turns out I torque the bow on my first release. Not a great deal but enough to make a difference. Changed from my usual grip of thumb and finger only on the grip to pistol grip of thumb and first two fingers with the rest tucked in and it made a big difference. Now hopefully I can remember to do it every time. Was other little things but overall my technique was not to bad.

If you get the chance to film I would. I'm planning now to work on my grip for a few weeks and film again to see how things have changed. Hopefully some of the other little things will have sorted themselves out by then but if not I will have an ongoing record I can refer to and can work on things from there.

I have been using Video motion analysis for coaching and for self correction for a long time now and love it. in fact it is the best way to describe changes to some one especially when I am coaching in Asia my Aussie accent is hard for some to follow.
Cheers,
Peter

I've just borrowed a camera from a friend and immediately found it really helpful, but I think it's important not to get to overdo it.

Someone commented on use the bathroom mirror? er, bad idea, when I was a beginner I tried this method at home to set the clicker. And, uhm, shot the mirror!! wot a mess, mum just laughed her head off and gave me the vacuum cleaner. Sympathy? no. When I spoke to friends in my club I found 2 others who'd also done this, and one who'd shot an arrow out of his bedroom window, never to be seen again.
