Form question - specifics about hip/torso position

I am returning to an open stance after years of parrallel stance.

The point is to not actively keep the hips in line with the feet or the shoulders. You possition the shoulders and the feet, and your hips are 1/2 way between, as a natural motion rather than doing something in particular. ( i think )
