| That's a very good question. I do not know the answer but my guess would be that having a temporary set up would be a big help, otherwise, where would you start? I would imagine that there might be minor adjustments to make once the served in nocking point is installed. If the arrow rest is adjustable, that would be the easiest way. |

| Tel, try a narrow strip of masking tape. It's something that Graham Weller from Wales Archery showed me. |

| Don't adjust the arrow rest, you will move the button/arrow centre. Use a brass nock set until the string is stretched in, then you can re-serve and put a Beiternock locater in the serving. |

| Some sort of tape is what Beiter recommend as well. |

| Thanks guys - would it be feasible to use the tape method without a serving, or would that be too much difference? Just thinking that serving the string to un-serve it for the beiter seems a bit pointless otherwise.

| Unfortunately you should really serve the string. Fiddly, but worth the trouble IMHO. |

| Thanks John - I sort of guessed as much, but anything for an easy life! ![]()

| It wouldn't be an easy life replacing the string after you'd shot it without a centre serving.... String materials are very strong in tension but very prone to damage by abrasion, that's why we serve them. I've even got a little extra 2" of mini serving on the bottom of my compound string as where I rest the bow against my trousers to load it goes fluffy.... Much easier to re-serve the string than make a new string IMO. P.
