| Ouch! help :( Been shooting quite well recently, see my thread in achievements, however i've been constantly hurting my finger whilst shooting. Have a look at this link if you want to see where i'm getting blistered (it isnt too horrid!) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...k/Dsc00349.jpg What could cause my finger to constantly rub the arrow as i release? My fingers are definately nice and relaxed up untill the release (specially thanks to OB's tab face) I also shoot a 68" bow with a 31" draw length Any help would be greatly appreciated ![]() |

| with a 31" draw i think you should really be shooting a 70" bow... im probably wrong but it could be the string angle is pushing your fingers together onto the nock and rubbing. With a longer bow, the string angle isnt as bad and you can spread your fingers easier. Does your tab have a finger spacer? my one ( cartel cavalier copy ) had quite a square angled edge where my finger sits on it that was causing similar blisters and rubbing. Took a file to it and rounded off the corner and now its v comfy.

| Its definately the arrow and not the tab, i've actually increased the width of my Soma tab spacer to try and help but it did no good. If i uploaded a movie of me shooting fairly up close could someone tell me if the string angle could be causing the problem? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Upload the movie and everyone can see what's happening. Making the finger spacer wider may be going the wrong way as it can cause the finger ends to move closer together even though the second joints are further apart. It depends where the finger spacer contacts the fingers. |

| i had the same problem a few months back, the blister turned into a hard lump of skin which i would have to trim. at that time i was using a shallow grip, in the first joint of the 1st and 3rd fingers, didn't know any better. these days i have gone to a much deeper grip and the problem has gone, also i find the release is better as less strain on the fingers. worth looking at. |

| I have a callus on that side of my finger and I used to occasionally get a little blister there when I was shooting my indoor setup. I purposely shoot with my finger touching the top of the arrow though - it's one way I can ensure a perfectly consistent hand position every time. ![]() |

| The last couple of times this has blistered and peeled, so hasnt formed a nice tough callouse yet I'll try and take a movie inside. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Drawing arm elbow a bit too high possibly? would need to see the movie. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| [IMG] [/IMG]The extra piece of leather at the index finger, wraps round the underside of the finger tip when in use. The finger may still be pressed onto the arrow nock, but iinstead of the nock rubbing the skin at high speed when it leaves, it rubs the leather. Much less painful. |
