(1) Black 8125, 18 strand. Just about to try a 16 strand one.

(2) Changed from Dynaflite 97 out of curiosity.

(3) Very, very good. What generally happens is when I string the bow I set it up with a brace height 1/8in higher than I want, shoot an end and find it's dropped to the correct height. Thereafter it doesn't move. 97 was the same, but it took longer for the initial stretch that every string material seems to have to wear off. Also, I'm able to shoot a slightly lower bracing height with the 8125, and had a marginal sight mark improvement at 60 yards.

(4) Up until recently, Dave French at Centreshot Archery. I've just bought a string jig so I can do it myself.*

(5) Nope. See no point in changing.

* Just thought I'd point out that I'm not going to learn how to do it myself because of any failings on Dave's part. He makes superb strings; it's just I thought it was about time I learned how to do it myself.

(1) 8125
(2) changed from Angel Dyneema - I was getting too much creep (not enough wax?) and it goes "hairy" too quickly. Before that I used (in reverse order) FastFlight, Kevlar, Dacron B66 (and doesn't *that* date me...).
(3) I guess it's pretty much the same as the other Polyethylene fibres (Spectra - FastFlight, Dyneema - but note my comment on Angel).
(4) haven't bought a string in years. With modern materials it takes *ages* to get through a spool (not like the 500 shot *snap* with Kevlar :-})
(5) Never tried it. Though I'm near the end of a spool of 8125 now. It might only take another year to get through it...

(1)Fastflight
(2)I've used it for years but have got an 8125 string to play with
(3)It takes a few ends to settle in and has little to no creep
(4)I've dabbled in making my own strings but I'm using a Cartel one at the moment (yuck). My dacron string on my Mirage is by String-Flex as is my new 8125 string for my GM. Nice high quality strings from Spain (I think) but Bowsports sell them.
(5) Haven't tried it yet but it sounds good
