Thumbs up string questions

Hi folks just a wee survey on strings.

(1)what string are you using on your recurve at present
(2)If you changed why did you change.
(3)Whats it like in relation to stretch and creep.
(4)Who in GB makes your strings for you (if you dont do it yourself).
(5) Have you ever tried angel majesty....opinions please.
Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions

Hi Indy,

1, 4, & 5, see my user page.

2, Reading reports on Saggi BB, decided to give Angel M a try. So far, scores similar to FF, have yet to do a dynamic comparison between the two.

3, No discernible stretch or creep with Angel M. Brace height hasn't changed on either bow, whether I leave them strung or not.

FF stretched and lowered brace height by 3/8" from stringing bow to completion of 2 ends of sighters (FITA), then stable.

1. Fast Flight Plus

2. wanted a dyneema based yellow string ( as I find it difficult to see my string picture with white string ) and FF+ was available in yellow at the time.

3. Not something I worry about, So have never kept tabs on it.

4. make them myself

5. No, but very much liked Angel ASB Dyneema, just couldn't get in yellow

1. 8125
2. for the hell of it... like Fasflight. Not so keen on Angel Dyneema.
3. Very little of either and comes in cool colours!
4. Who doesn't make their own strings?? Lazy b***ers
5. nope.

Frankly, any of the modern string materials will suit the average (sub-1300) archer, I just fancied something of a colour that matched my bow

1. Fastflight
2. New bow, new string, better distance
3. Never noticed any
4. Used to buy them from Quicks if I was in the area, now I make my own
5. No, and see no need to try it - happy with my present setup

You're welcome

(1) Shop-bought FastFlight on one, home-made FastFlight on the other.
(2) Always used FastFlight.
(3) I haven't noticed any stretch or creep.
(4) I've usually bought them from Top Tox, a branch of Wales Archery. They look factory-made. I've had a very good string from Aardvark too, but I don't like the black-and-red colour scheme they favour -- I reckon Lez and Neil are secret Goths! I've started getting into string making myself, with pretty good results.
(5) Not tried it, but it has an excellent reputation.

(1) 8125

(2) Just wanted to see if it was any better than anything else I had tried.

(3) Small initial stretch, next to no creep. I leave the newly made string on the bow over night, after a few shots the tension in each strand has evened out, no more stretch.

(4) Make my own.

(5) Yes, found no advantage over 8125. Black string leaves a black line contact points, nose and chin. Gone back to 8125
