| Are you twisting your hand as you draw or is it still twisting while you aim and release? |
| |||||
| Its twisting as i pull back. |
| |||
| Twisting as you pull back seems quite natural to me. When you fix the release aid onto the string it is probably palm down. As you settle into your references it will need to be palm away from the side of your face. Twisting as you draw gets things almost sorted before you reach the draw stops.A little settle with the back of the hand against the side of your face and bingo! |

| I will try that, Thank you all for helping. (if i need further help, is it alright if i ask??) ![]() |

| Ask away young moosette, glad to help in any way that I can. there's allways someone on the forum that will know the answer. If no-one had ever asked a question, we'd all be fumbling about not knowing what to do. ![]()

| I used to twist my hand as I drew, but so so much now. Maybe it's because I've stopped trying to force a particular hand rotation because "x" does it and established a rotation that gives me the contact I want at full draw and stuck with it? P.

| Hello Daughter mine The problem she has is that when she rotates her hand she hyper extends the rotation of her wrist. She is gripping the release aid the head of the release is fully rotatable (tru ball), however she over rotates the hand and her little finger touches behind her ear. This causes the wrist to bend slightly away from the face and moves the string away from her chin causing a slight left / right movement of the string as it is released. The picture of the hand on face is what she is doing (almost) but the hand is closed and the release beyond vertical. What I am trying to get her to do is have the release at about 45 to 75 degrees just like the picture but her hand would be still gripping the release aid, this way she will get a much straighter release from the jaws and remove the left right arrows she is getting. Any advice on exercises or other training techs I can use to get her out of this habit would be good, she has only been doing this with her hand since the October last year )possibly a little earlier) but it is proving hard to get rid of. The left right is costing her about 20 / 30 points on a portsmouth. She is very hard on herself and forgets she has only been shooting since July 2005, but shoots at region level and I am very proud of her. Took some courage for a 14 yr old to come on here and ask for advice well done.
