Yes, my wife is our primary club coach (county level) and shoots at MB level (has done for the last 3 years), and yes last year she was coaching the national squad (she was invited as an archer or a coach - last year she went as an archer, this year as a coach). In addition to this she was injured most of last year, so only managed a dozen or so MB scores.
Our other coaches don't shoot at quite such a high level, but simply because they choose not to put in the time (one of them is also a senior coach, one of the National Coaching Organisers for scotland and Coach Education Officer for
GNAS so reasonably busy - i.e. up and down to Lilleshall nearly every weekend). - but he could, if he wished to drop NCP/CEO roles, shoot at MB level.
Our club members are taught from the very beginning that the coaches will be available to take questions when they're not shooting themselves. The coaches to give up their time on a regular basis to coach 1-to-1 or 3 or 4-to-1. We also set up additional sessions from time to time to give intensive coaching to the club. Everyone is aware that summer time is pretty much shooting time for the coaches (and yes, we use the "if I'm wearing the yellow hat, I'm in coach mode" trick - works well in our club at least).
