Truly horrible day for archery. Not much wind, but rain of biblical proportions, very dark and cold and the field awash. FITA crew made a sound decission by abandoning the scheduled Fita round and shooting a 720 instead. Yesterday's round didn't finish until almost 7pm, so given the awful weather conditions I think this was a very sound move.

Hotel room now littered with wet cloting and gear and shoes under the hair dryer.

All GB gents qualified well. I had 347/342 (and led from the 4th end to the 10th end) finishing 5th. Top 2 scored 690, next 3 all had 689. Neil Wakelin had a strong second half to finish 17th, Liam Grimwood 24th and Steve Dixon 27th. Team is 3rd behind USA and Denmark.

Three of the ladies curves qualified - not sure of the positions.

Forecast for tomorrow is for more of the same.

Adam

Well done Adam Great shooting in those conditions. Shame you can't have some until after the competition is over. I hope the shooting keeps going well.

If people want to see what the weather was like, then go to Timo's web site. (see the start of this thread for the link). He's got some great photo's as usual and you can even find some there of Adam shooting in the rain!!

Looks like Adam got knocked out in the 1/16 round and is currently finishing 28th. Steve Dixon also lost in the 1/16 round and finished 30th. Big well done to the guys for getting that far

(That's assuming of course that the FITA result sheets are correct)

Well done Lucy and Adam.

I wonder if Lucy will make it back in time for Totem this weekend.

Doubt it - we don't get back until middle of Sunday.

Team eliminations tomorrow. Should be fun.

Adam

Recurve men are through to the gold medal match against Australia tomorrow - should be a great one to watch! They are assured a medal now!

Recurve ladies went out to the US team in the first round. The compound ladies also lost their first match, also against the US. Compound men were more fortunate and won their first match against Norway before losing to Iran (again) in the quarter-finals.
