UK Masters

Target list is on GNAS web site. If I didn't mis-count, I reckon there are 74 mens compounds. Should make it an interesting weekend.

Adam,

There appear to 4 on some targets this year and 2 details. If my memory serves me right, its usually a single detail isn't it. Could be late on Sunday when we get away!

I see they've made Chris White walk right to the far end of the field....has he upset someone?

You're right, it usually is a single detail. I've emailed Pam to ask what the format is this year, as it doesn't actually specify on the target list - the entry form did say single details of 3 archers however.

I think Chris asks for the end target. It's where he first shot 1400.

Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't the Masters be for Master Bowmen and the Master Bowman category should be the top 5% of the country? Surely the Master Bowman scores are too low, maybe they should think about changing them (Compound) to something realistic like 1340 for MB and 1375 for GMB?
gnas were supposed to be reviewing the classifications this year for that exact reason, most of the top 60 compounders are at least MB! I don't think they will do it until next year now.

AFAIK the number of archers in the country has increased significantly over the last number of years..... so 5% of the total means that there will be more entrants than in the past?

I'm not saying this is a direct corellation, but this should be remembered when thinking about this.

Good luck to everyone shooting this year.

Kae.

I don't know if this a reflection across the Country, but certainly in our club there has been a significant move to Compound, the number tripling within the past year.

With the increase of compound archers this year, there are certainly some interesting targets, and if the weather is nice it could get expensive on targets 41 and 49.

Target 41 has Adam (Shaw) and Merlin (Ben Jones), with Simon Needham and a third MB+ compound archer.

Target 49 has (Big D) Steve Dixon and Mynott with Kevin Chidgey (another GMB compound) who I shot with last year and could put them in the middle too.

Anyway good shooting everyone going!
