European Junior Championships Portugal 2007

Here we (finnish team) are in Portugal, first team at the official hotel. We came yesterday, weather is fine.
Internet connection is very expensive here, I am paying now 12 euro for 24 hours.

Thanks for providing the photos Timo Did you get your camera fixed or have you invested in a new one?

Judging by this photo (Targets at Junior Europeans) they seem to have an interesting use for car tyres to "peg" the targets down. Does this really work??

Grant, there was a posting last week (see GNAS Junior Team For Portugal) that listed the Junior team. It was in response to your thread about announcing teams. However, I agree 100% with you that this kind of information should be readily available on the GNAS website. We shouldn't have to rely on this forum to get this kind of information.

That's the first time that i see that here in Portugal...usually they use a iron and tie the target to the ground....but in Algarve (where the EJCC will be held) sometimes it's very windy.

Well done to all and especially to Matt Arnold

There's no indication of weather conditions, but based on the scores I'm guessing it might be a bit windy.

The official website is possibly the worst for any intenational event that I have tried to follow!

Apparently it is no better on the field, archers find out where they qualified when they get back to the hotel!

Happy days!

Some Elimination Round Results

The individual elimination rounds took place yesterday (Thursday 28th).

If I can believe the results pages I've managed to "scrounge", we have some GB archer successes.

Tom Barber has made it to the Semi Finals of the Recurve Cadet Men
Matt Arnold has made it to the Semi Finals of the Compound Junior Men

Way to go guys

The semi finals and medal matches take place on Saturday. So good luck to both of them.

It's team matches today (Friday) and GB have teams in the Recurve Cadet Men (1st match against Portugal), Recurve Junior Men (1st match against Poland), Compound Junior Men (1st match against Russia), and Compound cadet Men (this will be a semi final match). So good luck for all the teams.

Bad luck to Jake Bunce - knocked out in the 1/8 round with a 115! It's the highest losing score though, so will still gain him a 9th.

Best of luck to the teams and to Tom and Matt. Hope the weather holds!
