They may be a tough unit to break up, but I'll be giving it my best shot, as will Michael, Tom, Roy and Simon, I'm sure! ![]() |

| Fantastic shooting from all the GB team, recurve teams must be GB records?? As an aside.... I remember a while ago hypertigger sounding concerned that she might be too old to make it onto the GB team/ be a successful international archer... Might be worth considering that Natalia Valeeva, who broke the European record, with a 1369 ladies fita, is 38,and has 3 kids.... I know she's been a successful international archer for many years, but if she can keep improving whilst having the commitments of raising a family, then I think it shows that anyone can. (If you look at the world cup website, and the details for practice, it shows all the archers DoB for anyone interested...) |

I think her main concerns are that the powers that be aren't going to be looking for people who are 20+ for 2012. They're going to be looking at their crop that they've spent years and thousands of £££'s guiding as fledgelings from an early age into someone they know inside and out. But shoot the MQS and get yourself in the selection shoot. If you win, they can't deny you a place on the team. Whilst Natalia Valeeva is still shooting European records, she has been doing that for many years already. So choosing her as a 39-year-old for the Italian team for the N-teenth time isn't as unusual as choosing a 20-something for the British team for the first time. That's just the way things are being done at the moment. |

| The compound guys are at it and shooting really well. Chris White breezed through his first two matches against Peter Vandekerkhof and Dominique Genet (FRA) with a pair of 117s. His next match is against Clint Freeman from Australia. James Forbes is also through to the 1/16 round and will be against Braden Gellenthien (USA). Liam Grimwood won his first match but was knocked out in the 1/32 round by Mats-Inge Smordal from Norway. |

| James Forbes and Chris White both knocked out in their matches. All three Australian compounders are still in. Now down to the 1/8 round. |

| Good news then on the team....keeping an eye on things as and when i can whilst dodging work!! (was a bit slow on reply methinks!!) I also had a look to see how Erika did since she is a forum regular....looked pretty good to me (from the little i know at such lofty levels), hopefully you feel the same after today's individual. |
