European Junior Cup - Lviv, Ukraine

I understand we have sent 18 junior and cadet archers to Ukraine to compete in the third leg of the European Junior Cup. The competition kicks off tomorrow and goes until 22 July. The website is here but is still fairly uninformative.

Does anyone have the list of GB competitors?

I think the list is pretty similar to the list of Juniors that went to Portugal for the Junior European Champs. Ones I know about for sure are:
Jenesta Smith (Junior Ladies Recurve)
Rosie Smith (Cadet Ladies Compound)
Jake Bunce (Cadet Men Compound)

I'll try and track down a complete list if I can.

I've also heard (3rd hand) that they've had an "interesting" time so far.
The journey to Lviv involved changing planes in Vienna. From what I understand the plane in Vienna was too small (72 seater?) to take their archery gear so this had to go seperately as freight. (Not sure if it went by land or air). The Juniors arrived safely but their gear got stuck at the Polish Ukraine border. Ukraine wouldn't let it in and Poland didn't want it back (or something like that). So, the GNAS Support Team out there with the juniors have been trying to sort the mess out. Don't know if they've succeeded yet, but I hope so!!

Also, the mobile phone coverage isn't that great. Texting out from the juniors just about works but not normal phone calls. Phoning from the UK works some of the time!!

I've got a feeling we're not going to find out much about this trip until after it's all finished

Thanks for the update Tim.
The weather must be nice! I'm surprised that Jake was only 4th with a score that would give most of the seniors in this country a run for their money!
Best of luck to them in the H2H this weekend!

weather was apparently hot but breezy/windy for juniors in the morning, calm in the afternoon for cadets,

-Grant, dont forget that Jake is a cadet and was shooting 60m in qualification round , but a good score tho'.

The rec cadet boys did pretty well too I'm led to believe , acouple of them in the top 10 (Alec & James)
literally just had text about Jun Rec Boys.
Ed out 1st round
Glen out in Semi's
Tom I think is thro' to final:

Woohoo! That's awesome news! Well done to them both! Tom has had a good run through the whole Junior European Cup - pity he has been mixed in divisions or he'd be taking it away!

Well if my interperatations of the rules are right, it's the best 2 qualifying scores of the three events which must include the last leg (ie. Lviv). If this is right, I think Tom will take the Europa cup for Junior recurve, Matt Arnold will take the Junior Compound (or 2nd to Greco (Italy) if it doesn't have to include the last leg)
