Well, That's day 1 - official practice over.

First person I meet when I come out of the dining room this morning... Erika.

Hi Erika!

Got to the ground (missed the bus) and got signed in etc. The weather was nice and warm, but everywhere is so far from everywhere else... got a lot of exercise.

Tonight was the opening ceremony - speeches, entry of the teams, and not to many c*ck-ups on the team names, but hey if somebody changes the order after I've written down the team names, what can I do?

Tomorrow , more of the same weather (hopefully) and the first day of official competition.

That I can back up wholeheartedly! Was volunteering Sunday and Monday and am signed up for next weekend too. Monday was spent setting the field up and it's a bloomin' big field! Lots of walking, and lots of lifting and carrying stuff across the field (those bosses may be foam, but they're certainly not lightweight!)...

Meant to take some pictures once it was set up as it looked really impressive, but forgot to take my camera out of the car! Sorry folks...
