Some fantastic scores there Alan going well with 1315 and Simon in Second Place. And the recurve team are in Second 32 points behind the Italians.
Chris White nearly hit 1400 only 2 points short and the team are in Second place only 18 points behind the leaders USA. The ladies compound are all together in 15th 16th and 17th and are lying in 4th place just 15 points behind 2nd place.
Charlotte Naomi and Alison in the Recurve team are in 6th place with Naomi leading the way with 1328 in 6th place.
Come on TEAM GB looking good at the moment.

here`s some photo`s for those who couldn`t make it taken with my pokey little digi cam
(not much to see though spectators where at the far end of the ladies line, the mens shooting line was way of in the distance past the curvature of the Earth)

Having been to the qualification round, all I can say is that "the ground was good, the weather was good, some scores were good & the company I was with was good, but OH DEAR who set up the viewing for the spectators? absolutley awfull!, no access behind the shooting line, no access to rolling scores, it was bad enough trying to follow gents recurve but the gents compound would have been approx.100mts away from viewing area.
If anybody is going, take a VERY GOOD scope you willneed it!

I was told that the finals will be closer to the seating area, but not for the initial H2H's, so as a spectacle to attract people into the sport, Oh dear what a missed opportunity!
If you intended going to see some of the best archers in the world, you will see them , but they will be a very long way away!

If anybody has a different opinion on this I would be pleased to hear it and why!

When we were setting up the targets I did ask someone where the spectators would go, as it suddenly dawned on me that the targets seemed to be taking up pretty much the whole field!

Then again I'm not sure, with the shape of the field, how they could have done it much differently, except for possibly putting stands at either end of the field...

But hey, any publicity is good publicity, eh?

Hmm that's pretty awful. Surely they could have picked a venue with better opportunities for spectators. Oh well. Don't suppose we could have expected much else, glad I didn't bother travelling all that way to watch.
