Selby Westerns

What a splendid annual event this tournament is! OK, it helped that the weather was perfect, but what more could you want? A set of rounds that encouraged everyone to attend, hence plenty of first-timers. Fierce competition and national records set, alongside helping novices. Longbow, compound and recurve. Even the judges helped!
But, most of all, it was run by the club. I don't know what percentage of members turned out to help, but at times it seemd they outnumbered the competitiors. Scoring, running, chatting, searching for arrows, or providing endless supplies of delicious food. This is what a tournament should be like - congratulations to Andrew Neal and the Selby team.

RE: Selby Westerns

Couldn't agree more. This was my first time here, and I was really impressed with how well run it was, and the great facilities. Really friendly atmosphere too, which helped as it was my first competition in a long time!
