Thanks chaps, and well done Grant. Don't do yourself down - you might have been unhappy with some of those shots, but you coped better than any of your competitors. Good on you

Cheers! I'm not entirely unhappy with how I shot, but wish it could have been less windy. I was chasing sight marks all day and often released before actually aiming just to get the shot away. It was Tim's 7,7,2 in the second end that I was able to capitalise on... Just an unlucky gust of wind for him!

I didn't realise Tim was down in this neck of the woods again. I haven't met him yet - just corresponded a few times - but last I heard he was up in Scotland.

What set up is he shooting with now?

'Fraid so. 6th arrow of practise. Not the best start to the day.

Took them until 3.30 to find the arrow. It was about 70 meters beyond the target, embeded in a concrete pad. When removed, the pile (tungsten) had snapped clean in half and the shaft splintered. £35 down before the shoot began! At least I got the nock back.

I was on the target next to you, bemoaning the lack of cake at the bbq

Well done btw - The shooting conditions were awful. It got ever so nasty towards the end..

Mind you, there was an almighty storm at about half past six - flash floods on the roads, lightening, everything - I hope you didn't get caught in it (I was just getting home, sat in the car for 10 minutes till it calmed down a bit).

Well shot Grant, Adam, and Micky; especially Grant as I don't mind being knocked out by you in the quarters if you won. all round.

He's living in Oxfordshire, about 3 minutes from me. He finished his PhD in Scotland last year and had his viva recently, so is now Dr Tim!

He's shooting a Matrix with G3's. I don't know what arrows, probably still ACE's since he has it all set up for field. His next purchase is going to be a Helix though, and probably some quicker M1 limbs.

Go Eddie!

Sounds like it was an interesting day... are M1s quicker than G3s? I thought it was the other way around?

So says Mundon anyway... most field archers are using them for that reason. He says the G3's are more stable but slower.

'twas good shooting with you too, Dave. The tent is still up in the back garden, trying to get the mud off of it and waiting for it to get sunny for long enough for it to dry! It might be up for a loooong time!
