Both Rose & Star Awards are supposed to be claimed on the actual day. The organiser should have forms available for archers wishing to claim once the shoot finishes.

One of the problems I've noticed with the forms, is the poor design layout means that archers often forget to sign for their claim. GNAS will not accept a claim without a signature. In all the activity at the end of a shoot, this mistake is often not noticed until after all the archers have left to go home.

A lot of shoots have someone standing over you to check you've signed the form as often the archer is a bit tired at the time! I remember Shirt once got me to go back and sign a form when I'd forgotten to do so.

There are also the fita target awards (roughly set at the same level as gents fita stars) at all the world records status FITA shoots that are not a full outdoor FITA round (namely FITA 18, FITA 25, FITA 900, FITA 70m).

Oh yes, they are still awarded (though you have to pay for them). All record status FITA organisers in England should have an application form - if not, drop me a PM

I went to the Pendle & Salmesbury combined Fita last year and shot ten points over the world masters record for the 25m. When I asked for a claim form I was told it was a record status event not a world record status event so it didn't count. To say I was miffed is putting it mildly so be warned, it does make a difference.

Yes, it is a bit weird. Just out of interest, am i right in saying FITA scores submitted for national rankings have to be shot at WRS events, and BRS events don't count? Tis just that i heard someone saying that the double FITA in Skye week doesn't count...

Yes they do have to be WRS. Makes it very difficult (and expensive) to get enough good ranking scores if you live in Scotland or the north of England.
