By the way how do you get such a low score at darts?

| Excellent idea Grant, I've recently been thinking along the same lines myself. As you well know living 'up North' means a hell of a lot of travelling and expense just to shoot WRS tournaments for ranking points. If RS tournaments were allowed it would be much fairer to those living in the North and in Scotland. I think the only reason GNAS have for this is GB archers shooting for their country in tournaments abroad, (these scores can be counted for rankings and selection) because in theory a FITA star should be shot to the same rules and standards anywhere in the world. Have you started training those Ants yet?

| It seems that BRS tournaments can now be used for indoor selection shoots. This is a big step up and will definitely make the standard required to win a place a lot higher! |

The only thing I can think of why FITA scores are used for selection are that FITA insist on a particular score before an archer is allowed to enter a World Cup event? E.g. to compete in the 100m sprint at the Olympics you have to run under 10 secs - no idea if this is the value but you know what I mean. So it is pointless selecting a squad with some archers that haven't acheived the minimum FITA requirements because they have only been selected on really good scores at BRS shoots shooting a York. |
