| RE: Competition info Don't hold your breath, LMP, I joined on the 1st of May and received my proper membership last week AND I'm told that was pretty quick !!!!!
Still haven't received any mag or anything yet (thought they'd send you the latest copy, at least) and you don't get another card, you only get a printed sticker, which I thought was a bit stingy !!!

| RE: Competition info Believe it or not it can be months before you get your proper membership number and even longer to receive your first AUK Mag. Your secretary should be sent most of the competitions from your immediate region LMP and then pass that on to the club members. I always try and put the ones I receive on display near our tea room. I do put anything I receive on our website so you could have a look there and surely a member who does receive AUK might lend you there copy so you can look at the Diary. Wakefield Archers are pretty good at putting competition leaflets on their website too. By the way LMP are you a member of Aire Valley Archers, if so I'm hoping to bring a whole bunch of my members to the Christmas Cracker event. This was great fun year before last but we were to late to get our entries in last year. Robin won best decorated hat, stole some chocolates from under the nose of a sweet little girl who entered. |

| RE: Competition info That's funny. Our new members who joined in June all had their full membership cards within four weeks. Same county, same region. Only thing that's different is the Club. And yes, I think all new members should receive the latest copy of AUK (though I think giving them a new membership card would be unnecessary) And, LMP, your club secretary has a copy of the county calendar, which at least gives the dates of each club's tournaments, so you know when they are, even if you have to find out the details from elsewhere. |

| RE: Competition info I'm an associate member of Aire Valley so I will be at their Christmas Cracker (whatever that may be!!). They are currently trying to poach my partner and I so we can compete under Aire Valley and be part of their team (I should say this is a select few members and not all!). It's nice to be popular lol

| RE: Competition info Got my membership through last week also. Only took 3 months. LMP, best two sites in our area for tournament info., Wakey and Bronte, loads of entry forms in pdf format. NCAS site pretty decent for some shoots. Mick

| RE: Competition info The Northern Counties Archery Society has a list of some tournaments in the North: http://www.ncas.co.uk/events_list.shtml These are the same as the ones that appear in Archery UK. Not all local shoots are listed here or in Archery UK. The Bowmen of Adel shoot on the 4th of September isn't listed, for example (my entry form's going in the post today, Furface ). Nor is the Barnsley shoot on the 25th of September.Entry form for Adel can be found here: http://www.bowmenofadel.org.uk/ Details for Barnsley here: http://www.barnsleyarchers.co.uk/page2.html |
