I heard it said on the day that the results would be sent to the team organiser. I have asked ours to send them on, when he gets them. he said he would.

Perhaps the first person to receive results should put a message up here so the other know when it is OK to bug their organisers....

i agree if you shoot and win or 2nd / 3rd then medals should be presented a medal. the memorial medals i can understand if you already have one then at least a medal of another sort. i know the guy who came first from worcester in the compound has a memorial medal from last year he was most dissapointed and probably won,t shoot next year if his efforts and time are not going to be appreciated.

I also agree that it seems mean that someone wins the competition for the first time, like Mark Spruce of Staffs and because he has a medal from previous years (he had a 3rd and 2nd place) he gets nothing. I know he, and Andy Rikunenko who won the gents comound were not impressed. Hopefully this will not put them off representing their counties at future events.

By the way, the reason behind this came from the region not the counties, it all boils down to the cost of the medals.

Thanks for the link. I will pass it on to others from Malvern.

I know that there are many layers of politics on things like the medals, and it is nothing to do with you....the only thing is the results show 'Roy Matthews Medals' for all the placings whether they received them or not...

I hope sanity prevails on this. The way I heard it at the presentations was 'Some people have commented about getting an increasing number of medals, so it has been decided....'.

Surely if that was the real reason (rather than the money), then they should still award the medals to all, but individuals have the option of not claiming the medal and thus incidentally saving the region money (and themselves directly drawer space).

Thanks for a well run shoot. I hope to be back next year. Also I hope to make it in to the final team placings rather than missing out by one place...

I have just been reviewing the overall scores for each County, and looking at them Worcestershire got the top score for all combined disciplines.

Worcestershire - 13,514
Shropshire - 13,414
Warwickshire - 12,871
Staffordshire - 12,843
Herefordshire - 9,533

And I think it’s fair to say that thanks for this results in no small part has to go to you portsmouth with your outstanding score for the Longbow FITA. Obviously we can’t also forget the like’s of Andy R, Eric T and Linda H for their excellent contributions on the day. We maybe not have the countires best Recurve archers in our team, but as a group, we seemingly can hold our own, I am not sure what others peoples take of that is?

why thank you. we all do our bit as a team effort, its taken long enough to get longbows to be included in the matches so it was nice to win the first one. we were not that far behind in the recurve really.
