I managed to avoid volunteering for the committee though, despite heavy hints from several people. It would have been funny if Cakemeister had been there -- I'd love to have seen his face as he left the building, wondering why the YAA's committee now include a Pete Thurlow...

Well that was a record. The AGM, with every item on the Agenda faithfully and truly adhered to, was completed in 21 minutes. And that includes the Q&A session afterwards. This may not be unrelated to the fact that only a handful of members turned up - those of the committee who had turned up for the morning meeting, plus four extra members. And not that many apologies received, either. Does this mean its irrelevant, or does it really mean that the committee is doing a good job, and that controversial business is being handled well throughout the year.
And, of course, the all-important elections. Most of the committee were re-elected. We need a PRO. And Charlie Hall stood down as Chairman (after many a long year, for which many, many thanks), and the Vice-Chairman was elected to replace him. The new Vice Chairman is Tony George.
That's all for now
Chairman Furface

Congrats on the chairmanship, Mr Furface! Sorry for not sending my apologies. I've gained the impression that there isn't as much to discuss at the NCAS AGM as there is at the YAA AGM. Is this the case? If not, then I'll aim to turn up next time.
