Selby Open Westerns 2008

Well a good day out at Selby, weather OK if a little cool.
New PB and a second class score to start off this year outdoors.
Tiny shot well given that his sight was dying - thread stripped on the block so some superglue was just about holding it. WHy do you never find these things at club nights.

Yes it was the usual friendly Selby experience. I shot my best h/c score for 4 years, and my 4th highest ever. Littlest at least shot the whole round (more concerned with GCSEs - first one maths as i write). It was a day for equipment among Adel members; one split limb, one collapsed sight, and our chairman (who lurks on this board as Green something) found that he had left his bow at work. Bobcat was frustrated at losing concentration at the last end. Good to see so many identifiable board members - though to be greeted by Deadeye Doc shouting "aggression" at me was disconcerting. ... yes, but it was "controlled aggression". This of course relates to another thread in which we were discussing whether it was "aggression" or "assertiveness" that was required to succeed in sport. I did ask, if you recall, whether you had remembered what this was about. So, how is the Alzheimer's?

Yes, this was my first Selby archers experience. I wasn't too pleased with the outcome of my shooting, but enjoyed the day. There's always a feeling of "could have done better". Back to the drawing board!

Of course I recall (and was looking foward to further discussion) but a certain concision in the post was called for for effect.

It was a nice steady shoot and it was nice to walk away dry for a change.

Came away a little pleased with my score but after returning from a injury, was glad I made the distance.

It was a well run shoot and a credit to selby once again.

Does that matter ?? I think it was mainly the usual suspects. I think Aire Valley got the recurve team and probably Bronte the compound. I've slept since then. Two junior medals for us.
