| Hello Mate Well maybe, but as this is barebow comp then aiming is not really an issue, I attended last year as a guest of a friend and found it very friendly. Regards Michael

| This is not a barebow competition, recurves and longbows can shoot the recurves to standard specification, (sights stabilisers etc) the first person to hit a 2" dia black spot in the middle of the gold at 100 yards becomes the captain of the arrow and then becomes responsible for organising the following years event. The tournament can only be held within the Yorkshire boundaries, and this year is the 298th recorded meeting in the 334th year since its inception in 1673. (the missing years are down to wars) And before you say that the recurves surely have an edge we in the past decade or so it is a 50/50 split (approx). There are many other wonderful trophies to be shot for but the most important part is the comradeship of fellow archers (the vast majority of which I only ever see here) and taking part in the oldest sporting event (current) in the world. http://www.scortonarrow.com/mainindex.htm Oh and BTW as the venue this year is small the number of gentlemen shooting will be limited (pervious entries given priority and a ballot for any remaining places) Its my favourite archery day of the year.
