Yes the GNAM took place at French Field, Penrith. We had great weather, no rain or wind, just sunshine and pure heat. Serious sunburn. We had seven targets on the gents line and four on the ladies line.

I shot longbow (my third/fourth Hereford round). New PB (198) and have now got my 2nd class classificiation (only need one more 1st class score to move up a bit. Final score was 350 just 4 points behind the winner. (just the two of us shooting longbow)

I know we got some county records for Cumbrian archers.

The camping ws fun as well. This is a shoot worth supporting, just a shame it gets so little support when held in Cumbria. Chris did his usual excellent job of organising the competition. Tea tent gets better all the time and the ice cream run in the afternoon was really appreciated.

If the organisers want it to be better supported they should make it easier to get hold of entry forms. I tried for 2 weeks to track one down but nobody knew where to get one from, and all my emails to the various bodies involved in organising the shoot got no response. I was talking to last years winner at a shoot yesterday and even he said he'd not been able to get a form, even though the organisers had been in contact to request the trophy be returned!

well, hopefully the results or photos from the event will be easier to find. perhaps whoever is hosting it next year will make the entry more available.

The entry form was on the Cumbria website until it got redesigned a couple of weeks ago but an e mail to Chris (also web site designer) solved the problem. Entry forms were also sent to all NCAS clubs via their secretary.

The shoot was very relaxed (and hot), the company excellent, and me and Bryan won the Jack and Jill for the third time in a row (wonderful trophy!) Just a shame there weren't more there.
