| You generally need to prove you can successfully run the shoot at BRS first before you can apply for WRS.

| This is a problem though... people may have attended had it been WRS but have gone to a WRS shoot elsewhere instead! ![]() ps.. a club that already hosts a WRS shoot is more likely to get a new shoot ok'd straight away.

| And yet again I find myself agreeing with Morphymick Yes, more WRS 70m H2Hs Up North - that would be good. Mick, you're all sorted though surely on the ranking front what with the Lileshall event last weekend and Savile in a few weeks time?

Is it because it was a Western do we think? Is that the trick maybe - to get peeps along in your first year of hosting a tournament by holding a fun type of event and then switch to something a bit more serious once you have WRS the following year? If that's what you want to do as a club that is.

| The best way to get WRS granted is to convince your region and GNAS that you can run a tournament to WRS standards. The best way to do this is to do it, but, if you are starting out, proving that you are au fait with all the requirements, showing how you provide for them, and getting the support of an appropriate level of judge would probably be enough. That and showing that you have run efficient tournaments in the recent past. As for popularity, speaking as one who shoots mainly for enjoyment, the thought of shooting the first round all at the same distance, followed by a second round (at the same distance) that I might get no more than a handful of arrows shot in does not sound enticing. Sorry, all you FITA junkies, but it just sounds dull to me. (Personal opinion, I hasten to add) PS - WRS only applies to FITA rounds. No WRS Westerns

| and most clubs don't apply for BRS for shorter imperial rounds... hence why the national records remain unbroken for so long in some cases! ![]()
