It has been beautiful weather all week and guess what's forecast for the weekend? Aah well! that's Aah-chery Mind you, three different weather forecasts and all are predicting different weather from thunder on Sunday to light showers periodically. Let's just get on with whatever it throws at us.
On a more upbeat note - the target list on the Judges/admin tent this afternoon is a lot better populated than the one posted out ten days ago.

Heck of a wind at Wetherby:

Well...yeah, alright, I shot it on my first scoring end at 90 metres. But just think of the skill involved - anyone can hit a four-foot boss, but I split a stick just a centimetre wide.

In other news - horrendous weather, we spent about 40 minutes cowering from a particularly fierce downpour, thunder, lightning, wind, and abandonment after 50 metres.

I can't believe they opted to abandon when it wasn't even raining... and the sun has split the sky since

What a waste of a day.. and MB was well within sight.

Hold on there, LMP! On the way back home there were some pretty large rain storms ... with glimpses of the sun, admittedly. I can only agree that it was a waste of a day but the constant stopping and starting did nothing for consistency.
I'm in the Clicki camp and hoping for half way decent weather next weekend. You can go for MB then!

And yet more RAIN! I left the field after 70m at lunchtime. The weather has been atrocious.
One thing I have learned from the weekend was that my Endura Stealth Jacket, a cycling jacket, is absolutely perfect, and I mean ABSOLUTELY perfect, for waterproofing AND SHOOTING. The problem is that most "waterproof" jackets are 1) too baggy in the sleeves and body, 2) depend upon the Goretex or similar system properties of "breathability" and when constricted by either chest guard or Tubigrip/arm guard seem to 'leak'. The Endura Jacket is not cheap at between £134-150 but by the end of a whole morning of virtually continuous rain I was dry and more to the point comfortable.
A second lesson was don't continue if you're not enjoying shooting.
I hope the rest of the field enjoy the remainder of the day.
