Yup, pretty normal Bronte weather! Had lots of fun last night trying to shoot in it, I think you had the right idea, Linda and Neil went off down there later... Very sensible!

Pity I'm not up to 12 dozen yet otherwise I'd be shooting the spring weekend too (though Simon was describing the catering arrangements last night, and the food sounds lovely, so I might just pop in to say hello )

I missed Linda as she had to work, but it was lovely shooting in that corner! And most certainly less exhausting! We shot for a good few hours!
Still, managed to get sight marks for metres - need to go back up to St. Ives and get sight marks for yards again!!

Avalon - you can distribute AIUK cake if you visit!!

After getting about 6 hours sleep over the past 48 hours, if snoring is heard from my tent... just ignore it

Can't speak for Leeds - but York was overcast all day, the flying competition I was scoring/launch marshalling resulted in 12 gliders dotted around south and west yorkshire. And it's cold and rainy outside...glad i've a warm comfortable bed to sleep in tonight!

Action-packed day at Bronte!

Baking sun when we got there. I was wondering whether to leave my sunroof open, but decided against. Luckily...

The ground was extremely dry and hard, sending any misses skidding to the 140 yard area.

But the clouds came, then went, then came, etc. Eventually in mid-afternoon we got a drenching. And a nasty cold wind. Gibbon, Kellog and I refrained from the soft option of coats, largely because we didn't have any with us.

Loads of AIUK people there -- nice to see y'all.

I started off badly (how else?) with the shooting. Clearance problems caused a mass extinction of fletches on my ACCs. Eventually I had to switch to my X7s. The bow wasn't tuned for them, but I shot way better with these than with the carbons. Odd.

(BTW, did anyone notice the sight mark I eventually got for 100 yards? Doofus here forgot to write it down.)

I found out the origin of Kellog's screen name, and got tantalising hints about the camel. Littest Furface said I looked like the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Gibbon was freaked out when I swapped my dark glasses for the clear ones -- he said I had "scary eyes and rabbit teeth". The scary eyes bit is fair enough, I've been told that plenty of times -- but rabbit teeth???

Got a third class score on the York, which was OK considering.

But no raffle! What kind of cockamamie shoot...

Another 10 dozen tomorrow, same place same time!

But not better weather!!

My sight marks were WAY out - instead of losing 6 arrows in order to turn my sight to the inside, I chose to flounder through 80 yards aiming at the top of the target!!! Just scraped 1st class - very disappointing!!

Great to see so many AIUKer's

Best of luck to all involved with the Canadian tomorrow. Wish I were going...

Hope the weather is kind (or kind enough) to you.
