| Fantastic day though - most of my house is taken over with bits of kit drying out. I shot on No.1 with a nice chap called Gus from Wakefield - you may have noticed him happily plodding about all day in just slacks and a short sleeved white polo shirt. When I asked him why he was not dead from exposure yet, he told me he was a dry stone waller and that the weather was quite pleasant compared to open moorland, where sheep blow past you horizontally. RGS and I went for a pint afterwards in a posh pub (by Cleckheaton standards!). It was full of families out for Sunday tea, with the kids well scrubbed. I stood at the bar suddenly aware of water running out of my hat, trickling down my nose and landing in an expanding puddle on the bar. I just smiled at the bartender is if this was a perfectly normal activity. We sat and steamed slowly in a corner drinking beer - best way to dry out known to man.

| And Littlest Furface won her category. And I actually made the highest score on my target - which is unprecedented. That's assuming you could read the scoresheet, whichwas in a state of disintegration.

| It was a good day even though it rained and I had "technical problems" with my soon to die horribly  Sur-lock sight. It had a rather intersting habit of changing the sightmark all by it's self by 5mm each time I took a shot . Ok if I could remeber to adjust it every shot, but consistenly forgot to So apologies to anyone I over subjected my frustrations on during the day.. . Word of advice, never trust anything that is suspect, making do does not work. If in doubt, throw it away and buy a new one. |
