Hi All,

Me and AHorsey will be there both days.

I didn't win the Yorkshire Champs novice trophy, but did win the Grand Northern Archery Meeting novice trophy. Has to be said it is nice to win a trophy in your first year of shooting - especially as it only gets harder from there on in

It's worth pointing out that any novice (any senior Gent recurve that is) who has already sent off the entry form but not declared their novice status (first year of competetive activity), can go to the Judges tent on the day and ask to be listed as novice. The same goes for your classification. I got a nice medal last year as the highest scoring 1st class recurve - something I did not realise was available until mid way through the shoot. It pays to make the tournament organiser aware of your status.

I'll be there for the Saturday, shooting my first proper (i.e. with other people around) FITA.

I think I've sorted out what was wrong with my bow -- nocking point 2mm too high, which had a surprisingly large effect. And I think I've worked out what was wrong with my raffle technique -- is there a raffle, anyone know???

Had an e-mail from Kath Fitzpatrick. She and Jean Clarkson will be running the YAA Refreshments stand over the weekend. Bacon butties from 8AM. Sandwiches, soup, other grub and drinks available. All much-needed funds will go towards the three YAA squads.

If anyone's going and not shooting, they'd be very grateful for your assistance on the stand. And they need...cakes! Any cakes or biccies you can donate will be very welcome.

There has been every other year. I can't see why this year would be any different. And they usually consist of a fair few bottles of wine, beer, and other goodies!

Looking at the current weather forecast for Wetherby this weekend, it looks like we will finally get some of that rumoured spring weather! 20ºC and light tailwind sounds perfectly ideal to me! Oh yeah!

Guess that was from the ultra reliable bbc weather site.

Doesn't look quite as promising on Metcheck:
http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...ode=Ls22&day=4

Still light winds will be good!

Never thought I would see Wetherby and "Light Tail Winds" mentioned in the same sentence Still we live in hope! Good luck to all.
