Pffft!!! Yes, LMP should know, since she won the bag of buttons! The thought that it was a blatant fix never crossed my mind, though it did cross my lips.

BTW Tigger, you won a distance prize. No doubt Neil will be in touch.

PB for me on Saturday, just 16 short of 1000. Hoping to get there on Sunday, but dropped 20 points.

Still I learned one valuable lesson, when Neil tells you to shoot a particular way, then stick with it. I didn't until the last 1 1/2 dozen on Sunday

1100 should be easy, now that I know what I was doing wrong.

Good to see so many AIUK members present and in the medal positions. Ahorsey and I shot on the same target. Nice meeting you Steve.

Plenty of enquiries about AIUK from non-members, so recruitment should go up in the next few days.

As for the buttons, LMP informed me before the presentation that she knew how many buttons were in the bag.................................. no wonder she won.

BTW LMP, are you sure you put my raffle tickets in the bag?

Mick

Glad to hear people enjoyed the shoot. Thanks for making it a great success.

I know there's lots of very tired Bronte Archers after the 3 or 4 days physical work prior to and during the shoot. I do sometimes wonder at my wisdom in shooting as well as helping as part of the field party during the weekend. Still, managed a very respectable 1154 on both days and a 90m distance award.

I know a lot of us get satisfaction from seeing the completed field setup on Saturday morning, 45 targets faced up and a long line of archers waiting to start shooting.

The field was cleared and everything packed away by 9pm, and not a drop of rubbish left on the field afterwards. Shame the football teams we share the ground with can't seem to do the same after their matches

I think I'll spend the next week recovering.....

I entered a guess of 876 at lunchtime in the midst of everyone else, I knew the total when neil told the man from Israel before he went for his flight home - no entries were taken after this!!

Except mine!!!

You let me lose on purpose.

Roll on Wakefield, the anniversary of mine and TJ's raffle 'road to stardom'.

Was a fun weekend, although the shooting left a bit to be desired - I think I actually had more fun chucking bosses about after the shoot than I did for quite a bit of the time I had a bow in my hand.

TJ - it wasn't so much berating for a minimalist setup (God knows single rod has won enough things) as the fact that the rest of your kit is pretty good quality and a Striker longrod, while functional, can so easily be improved upon.

Funniest thing in the whole tournament was early on the Sunday morning when Shirt came running up to me between ends and said " bloody hell Dave, did you just shoot a 118 dozen" (this was at 90m!).
I knew exactly what had happened, my last dozen (at 30m) on Saturday had been a 118 and somehow the people doing the leader board had put my last doz on Saturday as my first doz on Sunday. Now a 118 doz at 30m isn't too bad a score but at 90m!!!! dont I wish.
