If my club champs weren't this weekend, you know I'd be there!!! That gateau offer is soooooo tempting, though!

LFF and the BFG have all gone quiet on Adel.

Now I know the "serious" shooters will either be at Penicuik or Meriden but some of us want a quiet shoot. I've looked at Metcheck, the Weather Channel and the Beeb for a forecast for Leeds and from 'sighters' at 11am (Weather Channel) it is predicted NOT to be wet. So rooting out the ol' umbrella from the kit bag, which I did earlier, seems to have "done the trick".

Still I think TJ's precipitate arrival plan sounds a bit worrying, and anyway he'll miss the if he's not careful.

It isrumoured that the Lady Paramount (or should that be LMP) will be arriving from a victory in Derby. Well done that woman!

Don't you worry, TJ, We'll save some cake for you...
I might not be making a BFG, I'm not feeling to good from baking all morning...
I've made carrot cakes, coconut and bluberry cakes, flapjacks, brownies, banana cakes... plus all the biscuits and bacon butties and crisps etc on offer... We may have over catered...

Never mind the BFG - why don't you try some bailey's cheesecake?

Although I guess at this time of night that will not be possible

So much for that!
Mick didn't even turn up! We were waiting for him!
All in all, though, we did reasonably well... I think there were about 40 entrants, and LOTS of cake!. T.J.Mason came out as the Raffle King, cos he had bought enough tickets to fill Mick's place
I've been back all of, what, 7.5 minutes? I've been rather sickly...

I hope everyone had fun... Please let me know if there's anything you haven't liked...

Deadeye Doc was 2nd gent recurve
Big D was 1st gent compound
Medoc was 2nd gent compound

There are others but I can't remember who everyone is!! I'm sure Littlest may be able to help - or identify your win yourself

Adel was blessed with glorious, unbroken sunshine -- AFTER we'd finished shooting. During the shoot we got the lot -- drizzle, horizontal drizzle, lashing down, howling gales, and sunshine. I thought I'd gone to Bronte by mistake. The Pop-A-Bivvy of Gayle C and Richard popped itself quite spectacularly, and plenty of bows and scopes tasted dirt.

Good bunch of AIUKers there -- too many to mention these days, which shows you how popular the board has become. But we had the Mystery of the Missing MorphyMick -- hope all's well, mate.

In his absence, I scooped the raffle big time! I could have had more, but felt too embarrassed to take seven prizes.

Thanks to Furface, Littlest Furface, Cakemeister and everyone else at Adel for a grand shoot, and special thanks to LF for the yumptious carrot cake.

It seems that the jat of Marmite was the raffle prize of choice (what does that tell you?) at various times during the day it was 'hidden' to deceive raffle connossieurs...
