Adidas Olympic footwear

So, my wife tells me that Adidas has unveiled all of the sportswear that they are suppling the GB Olympic team with. (Just like Nike)

She even tells me that they have made Archery footwear, and to cap it all, they were apparently shown on TV!!

Typically, I was at work so did not get to see this, so was wondering if anyone else had seen the item on TV, and had any other details about them.

A Pic would be good, but at present I cannot locate any mention of these anywhere on the www, not even on the Adidas web site.

I didn't see the item but someone was telling me about them and they appear to be like wrestling boots - soft soles and ankle support.

On breakfast TV friday morning the sports guy held up an addidas shoe/boot that looked like a cross between a trainer and boxing/basketball boot with stiffer ankle and lower leg support and said it was a purpose built archery shoe.

IMO I would find it strange if archers were introduced to such a new piece of kit so close to such a major tournament as I would expect they would take some getting used to????????

See them on breakfast t.v.They look like ski boots/my old Lonsdale boxing boots. They are white with dark 3 stripes, reinforced around the ankle area.

Complete overkill in my opinion. It looks like they're designed to protect lower leg from damage from arrows in the grass short of the target(hardly likely with olympic standard archers).Having said that,i think i can see where beginners may find them useful.

They got the fencing and archery footware muddled up on BBC breakfast. The boot is fencing and we have the shoe like the golf shoe.

Done a bit of long mat foil fencing. You need fast agile footwork. They looked too stiff for that.I would prefer them for archery Having said that i'm sure Adidas know more about this subject than i do.

In my teens, I was quite a useful athlete and I used to get my spikes (running shoes) from a firm called Capital Sports who were based I think in Luton. They used to send me a their Adidas catalogue, which if I remember, had items such as Adidas motor sport, shooting and parachuting boots. Although this was in the seventies, I have no doubt that Adidas would have made boots with archery in mind.
Best wishes,
Steve
