There you go again - sp? Actually I followed clicki's link from earlier in the thread - never knew there was so much in it! I'm not sure which of linecutters categories I fall into though...

This thread is going way off track, but - acronyms (especially the three-letter variety) seem to me to be the bane of communication. They are rife in scientific literature, and the world of education is just stuffed with them. Professionals tell themselves that it's just a form of 'shorthand' to keep the verbiage down. Well, maybe they do that, but sometimes it's an effort to remember what a particular combination of letters stands for, and I always feel that there's a sub-text of keeping the conversation to those 'in the know' (ie, excluding anyone who isn't in our gang!)

At least the smilies need no translation!

I think this is more of a chat thread so not much of a problem if it wanders - if it was a serious discussion of an archery related topic then I think it'd need kicking back into line....

BTW: I was actually thinking of putting LOL, RATFLMAO etc. in the censored words list along with 'piece of kit' - which to me is the equivalent of dragging your nails down a blackboard.
