Ooch! that must have hurt!

This photo was taken by my 11yr old son Josh on his mobile phone of his big brother Jim. Unfortunately Jim can only practice during the holidays as Europe's largest University - Manchester, does not have an archery club!

He had a very large scrape on his arm where the string when under his bracer.

I think he should restart a Manchester University AC. Pretty sure there has been one in the past, probably got some bosses knocking about somewhere too.

He'd thought about it but as his doing a Masters in Theoretical Physics he is pushed for time, having to spend most of his spare time studying. And I thought Uni was all about girls and beer

It is he should be down the pub drinking whilst discussing the finer points of Theoretical Physics Alcohol lubricated minds often come up with a lateral solution to the problem, or that is my experience

Did exactly the same thing last week with my recurve.

The resulting bruise was a beauty. Even a week later, the effect is very noticable.

We have a novice at our club who absolutly refuses to wear an armguard (it doesn't look cool). She'll learn one day, all I can say is she must like pain !!!!!

Did something very similar the other week when i had my 1st play with a toy from the Darkside
unfortunately it seems the draw length may have been a little to long for me
string hit my arm the other end of the bracer and i had to pull my Beiter Bracer out of my arm
yes it hurt the 1st time, 2nd time i started to sweat it hurt so much
