Does anyone else find these arrows quite delicate? Ive lost 4 of mine so far to injury. One even snapped bing pulled out of the target!

Looks like my dads compaq.

Looks like the FMJ's are less hazardous when they do explode like that. The ali seems to contain the carbon and prevent additional splitting.

I thought that was partly the point of them, the aluminium skin protecting you and the arrow from damaged carbon.

You may very well be right. My understanding was its a bit of a gimmick which appears to have worked. Als the ali allows for easier extraction from the target with all these super fast modern bows. But , as smiffad said, they do appear to be more fragile. Still the relatively low price compared to ACE's and X10'2 means it doesnt hurt your wallet too bad when you do damage one.

That is the point, so that your dinner doesn't end up with carbon fibers imbedded into it. AFAIK they are a hunting shaft, that seem to work well as a target shaft.

I never really understood the difference between hunting shafts and target shafts. Surely if they ar straight they will work well on either circuit?

I would not say they are more fragile I have 3 that have gone like this but I would not expect much more from a direct impact on the rear, unibushes may have helped a little but I don't think too much and as you said they are cheap.

They do not wear as much as carbon wrapped arrows I have had 1 set for a year now, they have been shot a lot and the pattern has not even worn.

They Do extract more easily than carbon which is great most of the time unless it is raining then the sleeve is really slippery and you can not get a grip on them and ironically they stick like buggery in danage targets and are a pain to pull, a little silicone soon sorts that.

Target shafts cost twice as much I don't really understand either, the Axis FMJ's don't have uni-bushes and are only available with screw in Points but that has never bothered me.
