Ah, but can you do it from the back & the side?

Granted, I've cheated a bit here by using kids on a field shoot but there's no clicker to react to.
(No comments about their styles though: 2/3 of them seem unable to hear me & the other has improved hugely over the summer)

Slower bows are far easier to catch. Compounds are the hardest

That's what I was asking about. I wondered how you could catch the right moment. I thought you pressed the shutter and Erika released on that. With the delay on some cameras, the arrow may have been just in flight by the time the camera actually took the pic.

there won't be any surprise to me if u were taking those pics with a canon eos 1d "mk whatever" or a nikon d2! but u took those shots with a nikon d70. that's really impressive! good job marcus!

A friend of mine took some amazing photos in 2005 with a D70. He has one where the arrow is flexed but still in the bow. Will try and find them.

Geoff, this was at a competition, so the archers were hopefully concentrating on their shooting more than my camera. LOL.
